LEKSHMI VARAHA MOORTHY TEMPLE
Location :- Sree Varaham – South Fort – Trivandrum, Kerala,
India
As you know in India there
are very few temples belongs to Lord Varaha.
This lord was third avatar of Lord Mahavishnu. In best of knowledge - Kerala there are two
famous temples belongs to Varaha.
One is situated at
Kuttippuram – Panniyoor of Northern Kerala.
It is known as ‘Panniyoor Sree Varaha Temple’. Another one located at Capital city of Kerala
– Trivandrum.
According to the Hindu
mythology – During the period of origination of Universe - whole Universe was flooded
with water. So the Lord Brahma – who has
the divine responsibility of creation of new things in the universe created a new
Lord. It had a face of a ‘Pig’ with a
human body. It was an extremely big
creature with four hands holds ‘Conch’, ‘Chakra’, ‘Mace’ and ‘Lotus’ like Lord
Vishnu.
All Devas started to praise
the Lord Varaha. He jumped into the
flooded water in the Universe and found the Mother Earth. Because of this incident this Lord is also
known as “Bhoo Varaha Moorthy”.
If someone has any kind of
issues related to land or real estate should try to visit the Varaha Temples.
Certainly, Lord will help his
devotees. Lord Varaha is so powerful to save
the people - who had been influenced by Black Magic. He will destroy enemies of his devotees.
This temple is located at just
one kilometer away from the World’s Richest Temple ‘Sree Padmanabha Swamy
Temple’ in Trivandrum, Kerala. It had
been believed that Lord Parasurama had installed this Idol here. Here this Lord is giving ‘Darsan’ to his
devotees in sitting position with his wife ‘Goddess Mahalekshmi’. It is a very rare temple in Kerala as well as
in India.
King Arjuna of Mahabharata era
created a huge pond in front of this temple called – Varaha Theertham. It has been considered as one
of the 108 major theertham [Holy water] in India.
Main offerings to this lord
are – ‘Palpayasam’, ‘Laksharchana’, ‘Pushpabhishekam’ etc.
This temple belongs to
Travancore Devaswom Board.
This temple is well connected
with Air, Rail and Road transports.
