Thrikkulasekarapuram Temple
Location :- Kodungalloor, Trichur, Kerala, India
Historically, it had been believed that this is the first
Vishnu Temple built in Kerala.
This
temple situated at just 3 km from Kodungalloor Bhagavathy Temple. This lord is the Family deity of Kodungalloor Royal
Family. The royal family custom called “Ariyittu
Vazhcha” has been performed in front of the deity “Vaathil Kaappavar also known
as Lord Hanuman”of this temple.

Royal Kings were normally married the royal women from the “Samoothiri Royal
family”. It had been believed that Kings
of Samoothiri Royal family gifted this temple to Kodungalloor Royals.
Famous Vishnu saint Kulasekhara Aalwar started writing
the devotional poem “BhakthiKavyam” after praising this lord. Kulasekhara Aalwar had written almost 105 devotional poems. “Mukundamala and
Perumal Thirumozhi” are the most famous work of him. Mukundamala has 44 beautiful “Slokas” of Lord
Vishnu.
In front of the temple there is a deity called “Garuda”. Other sub deities are Lord Ganesa,
Mahalakshmi, Hanuman, Vasudevan, Nandagopan, Sivan, Mohini, Parthasarathi and Govardhan.
Currently this temple belongs to Cochin Devaswom
Board. Main offerings for the lord Vishnu
are “Kadhalippazha and Palppayasam” nivedhyam.
There is a Lord Siva temple nearby this temple. It is known as “Udhayamangalam Siva temple”. Historically, this temple also part of the Kodungalloor
royal family.
Another famous Siva temple nearby is called the famous “Thiruvanchikkulam
Mahadeva Temple. Pilgrimage to these
temples will be memorable.
